This woman happened to pull up next to me at a traffic light a couple weeks ago. Her gaze was stern and focused, and the light was falling on her face as if she were being lit for a scene in a film. I had my camera in the passenger's seat and I couldn't resist snapping a couple shots of her. I processed the shot with a 70's film scene in mind.

This is a new series of personal work. Each image will share the same duotone conversion and will be printed on 100% cotton substrate using archival inks. They will be limited to seven 16x20 inch prints and will bare a new mark consisting of the ornate "W" with "Ryan Arts" scripted directly under it. In addition, each print will be signed and numbered to ensure authenticity.

maryann is one of my oldest and dearest friends. our lives crossed for the first time when we hired on at wehrenberg theaters. we were sixteen. since then we've shared a lot together. in 2007, she allowed me the privilege of photographing her wedding. for me, this image represents her grace and beauty, and her inner strength i've come to appreciate over the years.
